| Product Overview | Telomeres are repetitive nucleotide sequences found at the ends of chromosomes, and their primary function is to protect chromosomes from degradation and the loss of genetic information during cell division. Telomerase is a specialized enzyme containing RNA that plays a crucial role in synthesizing the telomere repeat sequence, which is located at the 3' end of telomeres. In normal diploid cells, telomerase activity is typically absent, leading to the gradual shortening of telomeres with each cell division.
