Product Overview | This quantitative sandwich ELISA kit is exclusively intended for in vitro research use only! Its primary function is to quantify TEP1 concentrations in human serum, plasma, and other bodily fluids. The methodology involves coating MicroELISA Stripplate wells with Purified Human TEP1 antibody to create a solid-phase antibody. Subsequently, TEP1 and TEP1 antibody, which has been labeled with HRP (Horseradish Peroxidase), are introduced into the wells. This results in the formation of an antibody-antigen-antibody-enzyme complex. After thorough washing, a TMB substrate solution is added, causing TMB substrate to turn blue in response to HRP enzyme catalysis. To conclude the reaction, a sulfuric acid solution is added, leading to a color change that is quantitatively measured spectrophotometrically at a wavelength of 450 nm. The concentration of TEP1 in the samples is then determined by comparing the optical density (O.D.) of the samples to the standard curve provided. |
Storage Conditions | Store all reagents at 2-8°C |
Notes | Occasionally, trace amounts of reagent may remain in the closure of the product vial during shipment and storage of the TEP1 ELISA kit. It is recommended that any liquid that may be present in the lid of the container be centrifuged to the bottom using a bench-top centrifuge prior to experimentation. |
Reactivity | Human |
Specificity | No significant cross-reactivity or interference between Human TEP1 and analogues was observed. |

NCBI Summary | This gene product is a component of the ribonucleoprotein complex responsible for telomerase activity which catalyzes the addition of new telomeres on the chromosome ends. The telomerase-associated proteins are conserved from ciliates to humans. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008] |
UniProt Comments | TEP1: Component of the telomerase ribonucleoprotein complex that is essential for the replication of chromosome termini. Also component of the ribonucleoprotein vaults particle, a multi- subunit structure involved in nucleo-cytoplasmic transport. Responsible for the localizing and stabilizing vault RNA (vRNA) association in the vault ribonucleoprotein particle. Binds to TERC. 2 isoforms of the human protein are produced by alternative splicing.Protein type: DNA repair, damageChromosomal Location of Human Ortholog: 14q11.2Cellular Component: chromosome, telomeric region; nuclear matrix; telomerase holoenzyme complex; cytoplasm; ribonucleoprotein complexMolecular telomerase activity; RNA binding; ATP bindingBiological Process: RNA-dependent DNA replication; telomere maintenance via recombination |
