General Info
Size 48-Strip-Wells / 96-Strip-Wells / 5×96-Strip-Wells / 10×96-Strip-Wells
Product Overview This product constitutes a ready-to-use microwell and strip plate ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) Kit designed for the assessment of the TEL2, telomere maintenance 2, homolog (TELO2) ELISA Kit target analytes within biological samples. The concentration gradients of the Kit standards or positive controls render a theoretical Kit detection range in biological research samples containing TELO2. The ELISA analytical biochemical technique of the Kit is based on TELO2 antibody-TELO2 antigen interactions (immunosorbency) and an HRP colorimetric detection system to detect TELO2 antigen targets in samples. It's important to note that this ELISA Kit is specifically tailored for detecting native, not recombinant TELO2.
Storage Conditions Store all reagents at 2-8°C
Notes Occasionally, trace amounts of reagent may remain in the closure of the product vial during shipment and storage of the TE ELISA kit. It is recommended that any liquid that may be present in the lid of the container be centrifuged to the bottom using a bench-top centrifuge prior to experimentation.
Reactivity Guinea Pig

NCBI Summary Telomerase is a ribonucleoprotein polymerase that maintains telomere ends by addition of the telomere repeat TTAGGG. The enzyme consists of a protein component with reverse transcriptase activity, encoded by this gene, and an RNA component which serves as a template for the telomere repeat. Telomerase expression plays a role in cellular senescence, as it is normally repressed in postnatal somatic cells resulting in progressive shortening of telomeres. Deregulation of telomerase expression in somatic cells may be involved in oncogenesis. Studies in mouse suggest that telomerase also participates in chromosomal repair, since de novo synthesis of telomere repeats may occur at double-stranded breaks. Alternatively spliced variants encoding different isoforms of telomerase reverse transcriptase have been identified; the full-length sequence of some variants has not been determined. Alternative splicing at this locus is thought to be one mechanism of regulation of telomerase activity. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
