Anti-Inflammaging Drug Discovery Services

Chronically elevated levels of inflammation, often referred to as "inflammaging," are associated with the degenerative processes underlying aging. This chronic inflammation can lead to the breakdown of tissues and organs, ultimately shortening healthspan and lifespan. Anti-inflammaging drugs have the potential to counteract the detrimental effects of chronic inflammation by targeting key components of the inflammaging response. They may delay the onset of age-related diseases and promote healthy aging.

The accumulation of senescent cells can trigger organ inflammation, leading to organ damage and an increased risk of age-related diseases.Fig. 1 Inflammaging at the molecular, cellular, and organ levels. (Li X, et al., 2023)

Leveraging decades of experience, CD BioSciences is devoted to helping clients develop anti-inflammaging drugs. We provide a comprehensive suite of services involving the entire spectrum of anti-inflammaging drug discovery, from target identification to preclinical evaluation.

Overview of Our Anti-Inflammaging Drug Discovery Services

Anti-inflammaging target identification

Our effective drug discovery begins with the identification of biological targets associated with inflammaging pathways. CD BioSciences employs advanced bioinformatics approaches to pinpoint key proteins and genes involved in inflammation, such as the NLRP1/NLRP3 inflammasome. Our multidisciplinary team utilizes high-throughput sequencing and gene expression analysis to identify novel targets that can be modulated to achieve anti-aging benefits.

Drug screening and optimization

We employ various drug screening methodologies to help clients discover potential anti-inflammaging drugs. Our platform allows clients to rapidly screen for large compound libraries, and identify lead candidates that demonstrate efficacy in modulating inflammaging responses. Our drug optimization services also include structure-activity relationship (SAR) studies to refine the pharmacological properties of lead candidates. We use medicinal chemistry and computational modeling techniques to facilitate the development of anti-inflammaing drugs with potency and selectivity.

Evaluation of anti-inflammaging effects

CD BioSciences employs a range of in vitro and in vivo assays tailored to assess anti-inflammaging activity of drug candidates.

  • We help clients measure cytokines in cell culture supernatants to evaluate the impact of drugs on inflammation pathways. We also provide cell viability and proliferation assays to evaluate whether anti-inflammaging drugs adversely affect normal cell growth while exerting their anti-inflammatory effects.
  • We assist clients in assessing the anti-inflammaging potential of candidates in vivo by utilizing animal models of aging, providing crucial data on their efficacy and safety. We monitor changes in circulating inflammatory markers, such as cytokines and chemokines, to assess the systemic effects of anti-inflammaging drugs. We also help clients conduct histopathological analyses to evaluate the impact of anti-inflammaging drugs on tissue integrity and organ function in aging.

How Do We Analyze the Impact of Anti-Inflammaging Drugs on Lifespan Extension?

CD BioSciences offers longitudinal studies in various model organisms to evaluate the effects of chronic treatment with anti-inflammaging drugs on lifespan and healthspan. We also help clients investigate the underlying mechanisms through which anti-inflammaging drugs affect aging and aging-related diseases. We offer services to analyze pathways like reducing oxidative stress, modulating apoptosis, and addressing senescence-associated secretory phenotypes (SASP).

By integrating these diverse methodologies, CD BioSciences provides a robust platform for the development of anti-inflammaging drugs with the potential to combat aging and its associated diseases. Our services are tailored to meet the specific needs of our clients, providing a path forward in the quest for novel anti-aging therapeutics.
